RECRUITMENT FOR THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR IS NOW OPEN!

In line with Covid-19 safety measures and government guidelines, our selection and interview process will be conducted in line with meeting all safety requirements and will be conducted online whereever possible. 

READ our factsheet below for more informatin about Schools Direct.  Some essential information you should know if shortlisted for informal interview is detailed below and documentation you will need to provide during your informal interview. 

  • Original GCSE A*-C or grade 4+ Mathematics, English (Language only, not Literature) and Science. NARIC recognition of equivalencies at A*-C grade if you hold non-UK GCSEs.
  • Original A-Level certificates. NARIC recognition of equivalencies if you hold non-UK A-Levels.
  • Original UK Degree 2:2 or above. NARIC recognition of equivalencies if you hold a non-UK degree. 
  • Current Photo ID - UK passport or overseas passport with British Citizenship/visa documentation and original birth certificate. Student visa is not acceptable.
  • We do not currently offer sponsorship visas for Initial Teacher Training. 
  • Instead of the basic skills assessment, the DfE has asked Lead Schools to assess suitability for teaching including your subject knowledge for teaching and competency in the fundamental skills of English and Maths. We insist upon competence to GCSE grade 4 or equivalent.

We also accept equivalency tests by Equivalency Testing, A Star Teachers or other appropriately accredited providers if the testing arrangements have been approved by the ITT team at Middlesex. We cannot accept functional skills or key skills.

MIDDLESEX: SALARIED TEACHING APPRENTICESHIP Postgraduate Route to achieve QTS  with a PG Cert  (course code W828 )

The SALARIED route means your fees are paid and you earn an income whilst training through a four-term apprenticeship rather than three-terms as per the other two routes.  1 day at Uni, 4 days in School!

MIDDLESEX: SALARIED Postgraduate Route to achieve QTS  with a PG Cert  (course code 2PZJ )

The SALARIED route means your fees are paid and you earn an income whilst training.  The training is for one academic year (three school terms). One day at University, fours days in School! 

MIDDLESEX: UNSALARIED Postgraduate Route to achieve QTS   (course code 2W8Z)

The UNSALARIED route means tuition fees are paid by you but possibly with a BURSARY to help you.  This route is like the salaried PGCE  but spending four days a week in school rather than university and is done over one academic year (three school terms).
