In line with Covid-19 safety measures and government guidelines, our selection and interview process will be conducted in line with meeting all safety requirements and will be conducted online wherever possible.

Some essential information you should know if shortlisted for informal interview is detailed below and documentation you will need to provide during your informal interview.

  • Original GCSE A*-C or grade 4+ Mathematics, English (Language only, not Literature), and Science. NARIC recognition of equivalencies at A*-C grade if you hold non-UK GCSEs.
  • Original A-Level certificates. NARIC recognition of equivalencies if you hold non-UK A-Levels.
  • Original UK Degree 2:2 or above. NARIC recognition of equivalencies if you hold a non-UK degree.
  • Current Photo ID - UK passport or overseas passport with British Citizenship/visa documentation and original birth certificate. Student visa is not acceptable.
  • We do not currently offer sponsorship visas for Initial Teacher Training.
  • Instead of the basic skills assessment, the DfE has asked Lead Schools to assess suitability for teaching including your subject knowledge for teaching and competency in the fundamental skills of English and Maths. We insist upon competence to GCSE grade 4 or equivalent.

We also accept equivalency tests by Equivalency Testing, A Star Teachers or other appropriately accredited providers if the testing arrangements have been approved by the ITT team at Middlesex. We cannot accept functional skills or key skills.
