If shortlisted for informal interview, you must have the following documents available:

  • Original GCSE A*-C or grade 4+ Mathematics, English(Language only, not Literature) and Science (or NARIC recognition of equivalencies at A*-C grade)
  • Original A-Level certificates (or NARIC recognition of equivalencies)
  • Original UK Degree no lower than 2:2 (or NARIC recognition of equivalencies at 1st, 2:1 or 2:2) - we do not currently over sponsorship visas for initial teacher training
  • Current Photo ID (UK Passport or overseas passport with British Citizenship/Visa documentation and original birth certificate – note a student visa is not acceptable)
  • Skills Tests confirmation or evidence of when you are planning to take the tests.  Below is specific information on skills tests from NCTL:

It’s important that candidates are equipped with the right information before booking, and bring with them the right documents when attending the skills test centres. Any candidates that do not follow the below process will be turned away, and may lose their first free attempt at taking the skills tests.

Booking the skills tests:

Candidates can book their skills tests once they have submitted their application through UCAS Teacher Training. They can book in advance of this as long as an application is submitted before they attend the test centre. 

What they need to bring:

Two forms of identification – a primary ID such as a passport, and a secondary ID this can be for example a debit card. More information can be found on the STA website.  (links to http://sta.education.gov.uk)  

They’ll also need to bring proof of their teacher training application. The evidence that will be accepted are:

·       a welcome email from UCAS Teacher Training

·       correspondence from your school or university

·       a copy of a completed UCAS Teacher Training application form

·       confirmation of, or an invitation to, an interview from your school or university

  • National Insurance Number
  • Other documents if required such as agreed work experience before July 2017, a disability, a change of name
  • DBS Number if you have one
  • 1 x Recent PASSPORT PHOTO

We are able to offer two routes through different Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers:

MIDDLESEX: SALARIED Postgraduate Route to achieve QTS  with a PG Cert  (course code 2PZJ )

The SALARIED route means your fees are paid and you earn an income whilst training.  

MIDDLESEX: UNSALARIED Postgraduate Route to achieve QTS   (course code 2W8Z)

The UNSALARIED (tuition fees are paid by you but possibly with a BURSARY to help you) route is like doing the PGCE but spending 4 days a week in school rather than university!
